Donna Mae Pelton

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday at Evansville Baptist Church for Donna Mae Pelton who went home to the Lord on Tuesday April 26 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Donna was born December 1, 1928 in Greenville, PA the daughter of Lawrence J. and Sara E. (Webster) Strausser. She came to the Youngstown area and moved to Austintown in 1974. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Donna had worked for St. Paul Homes in Greenville as a Dietician for about 5 years and had also been a cashier for Kresge / Kmart for about 10 years. She was a member of Evansville Baptist Church and its Ladies Fellowship and Ladies Missionary. Her husband Herbert J. Pelton, whom she married in 1976, passed away August 17, 1999. Donna leaves three daughters, Helen Sword of Wellington, Donna J. (Randy) Henson of Kinsman, and Sara (Joseph) Combos of Apache Junction, AZ, seven grandchildren, Erik (Chris) Hood, Aaron (Jennifer) Sword, Joy Maggio, Bob (Lisa) DeZee, Jim (Tonia) DeZee, Melissa (David) Zebley and Charlene (Greg) Haase, as well as 17 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, Donna was preceded in death by her brother Jack Straussser and her sisters, Helen Huff and Ruth Moures. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Friday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes Mineral Ridge Chapel and again form 9:30 AM until the start of services Saturday at the Evansville Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests material tributes take the form of donations to the Evansville Baptist Church in Donna's name.
