Doris Elva Scheidegger

Doris Elva Scheidegger, age 90 of Cortland, Ohio, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Concord Care Center in Hartford. She was born on January 28, 1923 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late William S. and Veda M. Waggaman Cole. Mrs. Scheidegger was a retired secretary of Currie Elementary School, Mathews School District, retiring after 20 years of service. Doris loved her roses and she liked to needlepoint and read. Those that survive are her brother, William R. Cole of Mecca, and several nieces and nephews. Other than her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Howard D. Scheidegger on September 13, 2012, they were united in marriage on August 15, 1948; and two siblings, Helen Luoma and Edward S. Cole. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel, a Lane Family Funeral Home, where Pastor Joel Dickson will celebrate Doris' life. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Scheidegger will be laid to rest next to her husband in Dugan Cemetery.
