Doris M. Winters

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday at the Lane Family Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Doris M. Winters, 88, of Berlin Center who passed away Saturday afternoon at her home with her loved ones by her side. Doris was born October 13, 1927 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Jess H. and Edith (Harris) Lewis. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Doris was a member of Berlin Center United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Good Sam Club. Doris enjoyed traveling across the nation with her husband Calvin, on their motorcycle spreading the gospel and singing the praises of God. She was a Bible School Teacher, and a Sunday School Teacher, and loved playing her guitar and piano. In her free time Doris loved flower gardening. She leaves her husband of 70 years, Calvin H. Winters, whom she married January 24, 1946, 4 children, Calvin (Jackie) Winters of Lake Charles, LA, Joanna Zimmerman, Tim Winters, and Patty (Charles) Ripley all of Berlin Center, 1 brother, Jess (Mary) Lewis and 2 sisters, Bonnie Passow and Linda Seehusen all of Fort Dodge, IA, as well as 20 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Doris was preceded in death by a son David Winters. Friends may call from 11 Am until 1 PM at the Lane Family Funeral Homes Canfield Chapel, where services will be held at 1 PM.
