Dorothea F. Cook

Dorothea Florence Cook, 82, of Vienna and formerly of Columbus passed away Monday morning, March 16, 2009 in Trumbull Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Born in Tuscon, AZ, on July 7, 1926, Dorothea was the daughter of the late Theodore Max and Mary (Barnes) Cook. "Dottie" was a 1944 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and earned her radiology technician certification in Youngstown. She retired in 1987 from the Ohio State University Hospital where she worked as a radiology technologist and supervisor for 39 years. Dottie was also a clinical instructor there for 10 years. She was a member of the Ohio State and the American Societies of Radiology Technologists and loved to read. She loved the outdoors especially camping and fishing. Dottie enjoyed spending her winters in Naples, FL and summers at the family Island in Canada. Most of all, She adored her family. She is survived by her sister Mary Gwendolyn Viets of Howland Twp., a niece Janet (Kimber) Bettiker and nephew Roger (Anne) Viets both of Fowler, five great nieces and nephews, Dr. Robert (Dr. Robert Grundmeier) Bettiker, Traci Nevinski, Wendy (Stuart) Killian, Ryan (Cindy) Viets, and Robert Viets, and eight great, great nieces and nephews, Jessica, Alex, and Aaron Nevinski, Samuel and William Killian, Wayne Bettiker, and Katie and Owen Viets. The Rev Ruth Roth will conduct a funeral service Wednesday evening, March 18, 2009 at 5PM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel where family and friends may visit from 4 to 5pm prior to the service. Burial will take place in the Crown Hill Burial Park. Material contributions may be made in Dorothea's memory to the Ohio State University School of Allied Medical Professions Division of Radiologic Sciences and Therapy at Atwell Hall 453 West 10th Avenue Columbus, OH 43210
