YOUNGSTOWN-There will be a memorial service held on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Park Vista Retirement Community, 1216 Fifth Ave, Youngstown, Ohio, 44504 for Dorothea Jane Trube who passed away at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Select Specialty Hospital in Youngstown. She was 90 years old. Mrs. Trube was born February 17, 1920 in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of the late Stanley and Hannah (Montgomery) Scott. She was a 1938 graduate of Chaney High School and was an excellent student. She excelled in Chemistry and was in a State Competition in Chemistry in Columbus.. Mrs. Trube was a long distance operator with the Ohio Bell Telephone Company which she left at a young age to become a full time mother to her three children. After her children were grown, she joined the Higbee Company in Youngstown where she worked in the Customer Service Department and later was promoted to the Cash Office Manager. She was devoted in taking care of her family and her home on the West Side of Youngstown for over 60 years. She was found great enjoyment in reading and watching televison. Her greatest satisfaction was in spending time with her three children and with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Trube was a member of Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Austintown. She dearly loved her family and many friends. Mrs. Trube leaves her husband of nearly 69 years John C. Trube Sr. whom she married on July 18, 1941, two sons John C. (Nancy) Trube Jr. of Macedonia, OH and Robert C. (Marilyn) Trube of Powell, OH; a daughter Carol E. (Paul) Campbell of Tempe, AZ; two grandsons Lt. Col. John S. (Rachel) Trube, USAF; and Benjamin R. (Hannah) Trube; and three great grandchildren Madeline, Andrew and Samuel. Besides her parents, Mrs. Trube was preceded in death by a sister Audrey Butch. Calling hours will take place TODAY, Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 6 until 8 p.m. in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave, Austintown, Ohio, 44515. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Mrs. Trube's name to either the Park Vista Life Care Fund or to Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
