Dorothy A. Gifford

Dorothy A. Gifford, age 79 of Warren passed away at her residence Friday afternoon. Dorothy was born November 14, 1924 in Wesleyville, PA a daughter of the late Alfred and Julia Alice O’Brien Dearborn. Mrs. Gifford worked at Nichols Bakery in Girard for several years as a bookkeeper, and managed a mobile home park in California. She also enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, and family activities. Dorothy is survived by one son Ronald A. Gifford of Simi Valley, CA; two sisters Bertha Cook of Niles, OH and Mary Fairman of Girard, OH; one sister in law Margaret Foider with whom she made her home; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin E. Gifford who passed away in 1999; two sisters Emma Blatnik and Betty Dearborn; and one brother Alfred Dearborn. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday at the Pineview Cemetery Chapel. Arrangements are being handled by Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel.
