Dorothy J Jones

AUSTINTOWN "Dolly" Dorothy J. Jones, 84, came to rest in the Lord on Monday morning, Oct. 17, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown. She was of the Catholic Faith and baptized at Sts. Peter & Paul Croatian Catholic Parish on Covington. Dolly was the youngest of five children, born of George and Frances (Jurcic) Martin in Youngstown on Aug. 21, 1927. Kathryn Martin was the eldest child along with her sisters, Mary, Anne; and her brother, Edward. Dolly married John E. Jones at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers on July 10, 1948. They resided on Everett Ave. in Brownlee Woods until the building of I-680. They moved to Leffingwell Road in Canfield and later moved to 4340 Southern Blvd. in Youngstown. She was the co-owner with her husband, John, of Jones Saw Service. John died on Dec. 14, 1996. Dolly was proud of her Croatian heritage, was an avid reader and a die-hard Pittsburgh sports fan of hockey, football and baseball. Dolly had recently resided at Briarfield Manor in Austintown and her family thanks Diane Reese and their staff for the wonderful care provided to Dolly these last couple of years as they became like a second family to her. The family would also like to thank Fr. George Gage, the pastoral care office and the staff on eight south extension at Saint Elizabeth's Main Campus for the compassionate care she received during her final days. Dolly is survived by her three daughters, Diane (Beri) Berardi of Boardman, Karen Moser of Ocala, Fla. and Melanie (Mark) Beebe of Boardman; and eight grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. Private graveside services will be observed at Lake Park Cemetery on Midlothian Blvd. She will be interred alongside her husband, John, within his parents, Herbert and Lillian Jones' plot.
