Dorothy J. Parillo, 93, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side Sunday morning June 19, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Warren, Ohio. She was born on February 5, 1918 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of the late Dominic and Jennie (Leonelli) Champ. Dorothy was the last surviving child of the Champ family. She was preceded in death by her siblings Antoinette Massaro, Rose DelFratte, Samuel, Joseph and Daniel Champ, Annabelle Tucci, Dominic Champ Jr., and her late husband Joseph E. Parillo. She was a 1936 graduate of Rayen High School and later went on to marry Joseph E. Parillo of Girard, OH on August 21, 1948. Dorothy worked alongside her husband where she is remembered for her great conversations and delicious sausage sandwiches and pasta served at Parillo's Bar in Girard. Dorothy lived all of her married years in Girard before retiring to Vienna, OH where she would make her home until moving to Gracewoods Senior Living in Niles, OH. Dorothy enjoyed being with her family and going out for lunch and dinner. Although she never had children of her own she was more like a mother and grandmother to three generations of nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will held for Mrs. Parillo beginning at 10:00AM on Wednesday June 22, 2011 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, St. Vincent de Paul Church in Vienna, OH. Friends may call from 9:00-9:30AM on Wednesday morning at the Madasz Funeral Chapel 6923 Warren-Sharon Road in Brookfield, Ohio 44403 prior to the Mass. Entombment will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, OH.
