Dorothy M Holko

Dorothy Mae Kale Holko, 93, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Lake Vista in Cortland, Ohio. She was born on April 21, 1921 in Bloomfield, Ohio daughter of William Floyd Kale and Laura M. Applequist. Dorothy married her husband of 48 years, Joseph Holko on April 21, 1943. She was employed by Thomas Steel Company in 1940, serving as executive secretary to Mr. Thomas, and retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Company in 1952. After her retirement, Dorothy proudly became caretaker of her mother and her husband for the next 25 years. Dorothy is survived by two nieces, Laura R. Kale (Eric) Lytle of Johnston, Ohio and Carolyn (Eugene) Johnston of Jacksonville, Florida; two nephews, John Ruth of Mentor, Ohio and Eugene B. Kale of Johnston, Ohio. A sister-in-law, Ethel G. Kale of Warren, Ohio and many other Holko relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Holko on June 10, 1991; daughter, Carol Jean Holko on December 13, 1943; two brothers, Eugene E. Kale in 2003; infant brother Donald Kale ; a sister, Wanneta F. (John) Ruth and step father William A. McGlynn. Dorothy wished to have no calling hours; however, contributions to the Roswell Park Cancer Institute Foundation will be accepted in memory of her brother Eugene E.
