Dorothy Pawlik Austintown-- A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel for Dorothy Pawlik, 80, who died at her residence on Wed. July 24, 2013, her husband's 85th birthday. Mrs. Pawlik was born on Oct. 4, 1932 in Youngstown Ohio, the daughter of the late Michael A. and Catherine (Beil) Manley. Dorothy attended Ursuline High School in Youngstown. She was a devoted homemaker and loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and friends whom were like family to her. Her hobbies included playing bingo and crocheting. She enjoyed dining out with her husband, children and grandchildren, and area servers came to know them well. In her early years she enjoyed dancing and roller skating at Idora Park where she met her husband. She leaves her husband Edward J. Pawlik Sr. whom she married on April 21, 1951, her four children Bernadette(Dennis) Lepowsky of Greenford, Janette(James) Haag of Delaware, OH, Edward Pawlik Jr. of Columbus, OH and Paulette (Larry) Lay of Fort Wayne, Indiana, her grandchildren James Haag Jr., Jason (Erin)Haag, Melissa(Scott) Huff, D.J. (Melissa Speerbrecher) Lepowsky, Brittney(Erik Cribley) Lay, whom Dorothy and her husband assisted in raising, Jacob and Ian Lay, as well as her five great- grandchildren Forrest, Grace, Kylie, Kaiden and London. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Nicole Haag, two brothers and 4 sisters. Friends may call Sat. from 10 to 11:30 am. Prior to the service at 11:30. Memorial contributions may be made to a hospice organization of one's choice.
