Dorothy Rae Grapentine

Austintown-Funeral Services with Rev. Joyce Lawson will be held10AM Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Mahoning United Methodist in Youngstown for Dorothy Rae Grapentine, 75, of Kirk Road in Austintown, who passed away Saturday morning at her home. Dorothy was born in Youngstown, OH on May 18, 1929. Dorothy was the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Measmer) Lally. Dorothy was raised as a child by her aunt and uncle Ethel and Rudy Nelson. Dorothy was a 1945 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. Dorothy was a member of the Mahoning United Methodist Church in Youngstown, OH. Dorothy was a longtime member of the Chancel Choir of the church, member of the Youngstown Symphony Chorus with whom she had the opportunity to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and a member of the Republican Women’s Party. Two loves of her life were her family and music. Dorothy was married on February 16, 1952 in Youngstown, Oh to Ralph R. Grapentine. Ralph preceded her in death on November 30, 2004. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her children: Karen Kunkle (Mike Capito) of Vienna, Shirlee (Kenneth) Fowler of Stow; Brett Grapentine of Austintown, and Dean (Skye) Grapentine of Austintown. Four Grandchildren: Amanda and Matthew Kunkle of Vienna and Heather and Joseph Fowler of Stow. Dorothy also leaves a sister Shirley Lally of Youngstown and a brother Rudy Nelson of Salem. Family will receive friends from 4 until 7PM Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at theLane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. Family suggests material contributions in Dorothy and Ralph’s memory may be made to Forum Health at Home Hospice of Trumbull County.
