Dorothy S Reese

BOARDMAN: Dorothy S. Reese, age 87 of Boardman passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Sheppard of the Valley Care Center, Boardman. Dorothy was born January 19, 1927 in Youngstown to parents; Edward and Mary (Altwies) Strum. Dorothy worked at Youngstown Foundry as the payroll clerk and there she met the love of her life, Herbert Vincent Reese. They married on October 27, 1962 and together they had one son, Paul. Dorothy loved reading books, newspapers, and just about any magazine she could get her hands on. All that knowledge she had came through when she played scrabble and worked her crosswords. She also enjoyed jig saw puzzles and board games. However, what she enjoyed most was sitting with her grandson, Jake coloring pictures together. Dorothy was a very kind hearted person who never wanted to inconvenience any one in any way. Dorothy is survived by her son; Paul H. (Cheri) Reese, Boardman with whom she made her home, the apple of her eye, grandson, Jacob Paul, sister; Mary Scott, New Middletown, several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers; Joe and Ed Sturm, sisters; Margaret Cox and Edna Adair. Visitation will be held at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel, Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 6-8pm. Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 19, 2014 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Boardman.
