Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday in the chapel at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown for Dr. John C. “Jack” Carson, M.M., C.T., 97, who died early Sunday morning at Autumn Hills Nursing Center in Niles. He was born October 12, 1911 in Croatia, a son of Charles and Rose Carson, and he came to the U.S. as a young boy. He worked for McKenzie Muffler in Youngstown during WW II making gas tanks for the U.S. Army. Later he owned and operated a hair, scalp and wig electrolysis clinic in the Dollar Bank Building in downtown Youngstown. He was of the Catholic faith. He was also a nutritionist and he imparted his knowledge of health and wellness whenever he could. He is survived by a son Robert D. (Donna) Carson of Youngstown; two grandchildren, Paul and Christine; and two great grandchildren; Tyler and Nikolas. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and two brothers, Peter and Nicholas. There are no calling hours.
