Dr. Joseph Anthony Carano, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2015 in Ashland, OH, at the age of 79 years. Dr. Carano, was born July 5, 1936 in Campbell, OH, a son of the late Anthony and Carmel (Richiutti) Carano. Dr. Carano graduated in 1954 from Campbell High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Kent State University and went on to receive his degree in medicine from Kansas City University. Dr. Carano operated a private medical practice in Warren, OH for over 48 years. He bred, raised and raced Harness horses for 38 years with great success. His faith and love of family and his patients made his life complete. Dr. Carano also enjoyed watching is daughters show Quarter horses and watching is son Christopher speed skate as a National Champion of the sport as well as seeing Chris racing his bikes. Spending time with his grandchildren was very special to him. Dr. Carano leaves to mourn his passing Diane Carano; three daughters, Caren (Greg) DiMario of Centerville, Ohio; Melissa of Jacksonville, Florida, and Kelly (Pat) Eckrich of Ashland, Ohio and seven grandchildren: Andrew, Lauren, Jack, Alexandra, Christina, Mitchell, and Gaby. Dr. Carano is survived by two sisters, Donna (Gordon) Hartranft of Campbell, Ohio and Rosie (Ned) Kluth of West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Carmel and one son, Christopher in 1993. Family and friends are invited to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel from 12:00 p.m. to12:45 p.m. On August 12, 2015 and the funeral mass will follow at 1:00 pm at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Warren, OH with Rev. James Walker officiating. Interment to follow at All Souls Cemetery, Warren, Ohio. A reception for family and friends will be held at Leo's Restaurant following the interment.
