Duane L. Fellows

GIRARD-Duane L. Fellows, 55, of North State St. in Girard, passed away unexpectedly in the emergency room of St. Elizabeth Medical Center from a heart attack. Duane was born October 19, 1951 in Warren and was the son of the late Walter and Margaret (McElhaney) Fellows. Duane was a 1969 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and retired in 2001 after 28 years from Copperweld Steel Corp. Duane was currently working as a forklift operator for the last 5 years at Diversified Contract Services in Lordstown. Duane was a veteran of the United States Navy and enjoyed golf, doing crossword puzzles, he was an avid sports fan including NASCAR, an Ohio State Buckeye fan, and a Cleveland Browns fan. He enjoyed going to comedy clubs. A beloved, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend; Duane will be sadly missed by his wife the former Cheryl Mattson, whom he married on February 14, 1998; three children Melissa L. of Boardman; Joshua D. of Pittsburgh; and Christopher J. at home; a step daughter Lori (James) Palumbo of Liberty; two brothers Edward (Rosemary) Fellows of Youngstown; and Gale R. “Frog” (Cherri) Fellows of Niles; three grandchildren Haley, Allison, and Nicholas Palumbo; a number of nieces and nephews; and by a host of friends. In addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by a daughter Jaimie Fellows. Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 from 5 until 8 PM in the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at 10:30 AM in the funeral home with the Rev. Curtis Miller officiating.
