Earl Martin, 96, went to be with his Lord Wednesday morning, October 23, 2013, on his wife's 90th birthday, at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren. He was born in Farmington, WV on February 5, 1917, a son of Fred Martin and Ethel (Hallam) Martin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Earl worked at US Steel in Youngstown for thirty nine years before retiring in 1979. He was an electrician on the side and owned his own personal business, Martin Radio and Television Repair. He was very active in worshiping and serving at both Corinth Assembly of God in Kinsman and Victory Christian Center in Coitsville. He enjoyed Sunday night aggravation games with his family, golfing, wood working, going to Florida for the winters, and traveling the US. He is survived by his wife of 73 years Maxine Martin, whom he married on October 30, 1940; three children Janet (Carl) Clark of Ravenna, James Martin of Fowler, Dianne (Tod) Mackey of Vienna; six grandchildren, Doug Broadway, Jamie Hamrick, Kristin Gorse, Tod Justin Mackey, Stephen Mackey, and Jordan Mackey; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two brothers Marl Martin of Champion and Roy Martin of Youngstown. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dorothy Takach, and his brother John Martin. Calling hours will be held at Victory Christian Center in Coitsville, 3899 McCartney Road Youngstown, Oh 44436 from 2:00-4:00pm with a service to follow at 4:00pm. A private committal service will be held at a later date at Dugan Cemetery in Fowler Township. The Lane Family Funeral Homes - Madasz Chapel, 6923 Warren-Sharon Road Brookfield, Oh 44403 handled the arrangements for Earl.
