Earl Victor Ramsey

Earl Victor Ramsey, Jr., 89 Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Boardman Baptist Church, 1207 Shields Rd., Boardman for Earl Victor Ramsey, Jr. of Canfield who passed away January 6, 2015. Earl was born March 3, 1925 in Urania, Louisiana, a son of the late Earl Victor and Mamie Ann Ramsey, Sr. He was a disabled World War II Veteran having served his country in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946. Earl worked for General Motors for 33 years, starting his career with General Motors at the Baltimore, Maryland Chevrolet Plant . He was later transferred to Ohio in 1965 as a general supervisor material department. He retired from General Motors January 1, 1980. He married his beloved wife Lillian Ada Ramsey on February 2, 1946 and she passed away January 6, 1995, exactly 20 years to the day of Earl's passing. Earl and Lillian were the greatest parents a child could have. They were 4-H Saddle Horse Advisors for over 20 years with the Canfield Barbary Pack 4-H Club and spent every Canfield Fair supervising the 4-H Club. He loved bowling and bowled with the Wedgewood Senior mixed league up until 2014. Earl loved his 10 1/2 acre farm and up until 2014 maintained it himself. He was a sweet, kind, loving and giving person with values in life that could only come from someone who was from the "Greatest Generation." He will be missed by family and his many friends who adored and loved him. He leaves his daughter, Kathy Ann Ramsey of Canfield; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark E. and Angelina Ramsey of Albuquerque, New Mexico; five grandchildren, Ashlee Ann Hull of Canfield, Devon W. (Christina) Hull of Boardman, Mark A. (Kandi) Ramsey, Sabrina Ramsey, and Amanda Ramsey all of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also leaves seven great grandchildren, Taylor Hull, Leah Hunter, Noah Hull, Antonio Ramsey, Dominic Ramsey, Rosalyn Ramsey and Alia Noele Ramsey. Besides his parents and his wife, Earl was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Mildred Ramsey and Ann Ramsey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to the Silver Lining Fund, P.O. Box 401, Canfield, OH 44406, the American Heart Association, 840 Southwestern Run, Poland, OH 44514, or to the Veterans Outreach, 524 Youngstown-Poland Rd., Struthers, OH 44471.
