Eben D. Byers, Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 10am Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Eben D. Byers, Sr., 75, who died early Friday morning at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 25, 1933 in Youngstown, a son of Clyde and Marie (Barringer) Byers, and he resided in this area all of his life. He worked as a truck driver for various companies for 37 years until his retirement in 1994. Most recently he was employed by the Austintown Local Schools as a bus driver. He was a longtime member of the Teamsters, the Youngstown Saxon Club, and the Dahlia Society. Eben was a kind and loving man and he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He married the former Mable Keys on August 8, 1953, and she preceded him in death on January 15, 1999. He is survived by three children; Eben D. Byers, Jr. of Austintown, Pam (Dave) Giudici of Austintown, and Jeff Byers of Howland. He also leaves a brother Ron Byers of Austintown; a sister Nora Seaman of Struthers; 9 grandchildren; and his loving companion Mary Lou Jessop. Friends may call from 2-5pm Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions take the form of donations to MVI Hospice.
