Edith L. Sankey

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Western Reserve United Methodist Church for Edith L. Sankey of Columbiana who passed away on Monday at her home. Edith was born January 27, 1927 in Cumberland, IN the daughter of George and Leone (Stutsman) Amos. She graduated from Warren Central High School in Indianapolis and had attended the University of Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and was actively involved in her church as a member of the choir, the United Methodist Women’s group, and Sunday School. Besides her husband George, whom she married August 31, 1947, Edith leaves four children: Michael Sankey of Tempe, AZ, Jeanne Grossnickle of Winona Lake, IN, Patricia Sankey of Cairnes, Australia, and Mark Sankey of Tuscon, AZ. She also leaves a brother George Amos of Osprey, FL and two sisters: Marjorie Steele of Venice, FL, and Thelma Rumford of Indianapolis, IN. Edith also leaves seven grandchildren: David, Mark, Jaimie, Rick, Maxim, Kristen, and Rachel. A sister, Alice Washmuth, preceded her in death. Friends and family may call from 5-8 PM on Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel and from 10- 11 AM on Friday, one hour prior to the services at the church.
