Edmund J. Gursky of 52 South Mercer Avenue, Apt. 308, Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, died on Monday (6-19-2006) in the Sharon Regional Health Care System. He was 77. Mr. Gursky was born in Salem Township, Pennsylvania on November 29, 1928, a son of Konstanty and Catherine (Darcz) Gursky. He served our country in the U.S. Navy and he was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 55, Farrell, Pennsylvania. Edmund retired from G.A.T.X., Masury, Ohio having worked in the repair shop. In his spare time, he enjoyed walking, dancing, flea markets, socializing, and eating food of any kind. Survivors include: children, Marcia May & her husband Jon, Greenville, PA, Edmund Gursky, Jr., & his wife Bridget, Casselberry, FL, Kathleen Shaffer & her husband Dale “Chip”, Brookfield, OH; step-daughter, Audrey Goda & her husband Robert, Hermitage, PA; sisters, Edna Hodge & her husband James, Greenville, PA, and Pauline Sanders, West Mifflin, PA; 6 grandchildren, Robert Sincich, Julie Maiorana, Jessica Shaffer, Edmund Gursky, II, Nicholas Gursky, and Amanda Gursky; and 3 great-grandchildren, Christian & Allison Sincich, and Edmund “Eddie” Gursky, III. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wives, Alexanderine “Lexie” (Divens) Gursky, whom he married 5-28-49, she died 1-25-86, and Elsie Van Gazelle, whom he married in 1988, she died in 2005; by his son, Philip Gursky in 1986; by his brother, Julius Gursky; and by his sisters, Mary Sims, Martha Morningstar, Helen Ewing & Stella Woods. A private family burial will take place in Brookfield Township Cemetery. No calling hours will be scheduled.
