North Jackson Edna Mesmer, 94 of North Jackson died Monday morning after suffering a stroke on Christmas Day. She was born January 26, 1913, in Austintown Township. She was the daughter of Albert G. and Cora Bell Lorentz Mesmer. "Miss Eddie" as she was affectionately known by all who knew her, was active in the Youngstown Charity Horse Show in Canfield and was a member of the Mahoning Saddle and Bridle Club. She was employed at Schween-Wagner Studios in downtown Youngstown until 1950 when she moved to Sandy Knolls Horse Farm in North Jackson with her beloved sister, Marmie, where she had a great love of horses and all animals alike. This was where she happily lived out the rest of her life. She is survived by a special daughter, Georgeane (Ron) Burton of Hopkinton, MA and a special son, Bill (Dianne) Zeller of Diamond, OH. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Miss Eddie was preceded in death by her parents and by six brothers Norman, Vernon, Carl, Ted, Frank and John and by her two sisters Mabel (Marmie) Millikin and Mary Cornell and by her beloved grandson, Buddy Zeller. Services will be held at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel on Thursday at 11:00 AM Friends may call beginning at 9:30 AM. Internment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Boardman. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Animal Charities, South Ave., Boardman.
