Services will be 11 AM Tuesday at the Austintown Community Church for Edward C. Tabor of Austintown who passed away early Saturday morning in Trumbull Memorial Hospice Unit. Edward was born May 31, 1926 in Youngstown the son of Roy M. and Alice M. Robinson. He retired in 1985 as a Supervisor in the trucking department with Borden Dairy. Ed was an active member of Austintown Community Church, he was a snow bird spending his winters in Florida were he was an active member of Chapel on the Hill Church in Seminole Florida. He was an active union leader with the Teamsters and continued in an active roll with the Teamsters Local # 377 Retirees, and loved camping and traveling, and he attended the Fruit Street Reunion annually. Ed’s first wife, the former Mary Ann Dota whom he married November 21, 1945 passed away in August of 1984. They had two children; Rosemary (Ralph) Delserone of Austintown and their daughter Michelle Johnson, and the late John Tabor who passed away in 2002. Ed’s second wife, the former Vera Jean Reed whom he married June 7, 1986 passed away November of 1999, he leaves three step-daughters; Gloria (Tom) Hahn of Austintown, Shirley Gartland of Youngstown and Audrey (Bob) Malik of Canfield. Ed also leaves his third wife, the former Shirley M. (Barnett) Nosal-Tabor whom he married September 8, 2001 and four step-children; Karen Thomas of Mississippi, W. Andrew (Linda) Nosal of Largo FL, Bernard (Susan) Nosal of Youngstown and Dawn (Scott) Saxman of Gilbert AZ. Ed also leaves a sister Ethel “Effie” Kane of Austintown, and a brother Lenard E. Tabor of Cleveland as well as numerous step-grandchildren. Besides his wives Mary Ann and Vera, and his son John, Ed is preceded in death by four sisters; Frances Freeman, Dee Tabor-Pitts, Bonnie Finnie, and Nancy Tabor, and two brothers; Melbourne and Stanley Tabor. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and again from 10 to 11 AM Tuesday in the church.
