Edward E. Shahaden of Niles, OH, died at 2:28 AM Friday at Omni Manor in Youngstown. He was 87. Mr. Shahaden was born in Niles, OH on August 24, 1918, a son of Elias and Teresa Auon Shahaden. Edward served in the United State Army during World War II as a Military Police Officer. He retired in 1980 from LTV as a press operator. Mr. Shahaden was a member of the VFW in Niles, The Disabled American Veterans, President of the Union at Republic Steel; he was an avid swimmer and belonged to the Avalon Swim Club. He found enjoyment in traveling and football. He loved his family especially his grandchildren. Survivors include: his wife Alma Hellam Shahaden, whom he married in 1951.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Bryan (Lisa) Williams of Niles, OH and Mrs. Rodger (Maribeth) Kay of Girard, OH.; 5 grandchildren, Nate and his wife Jennifer Kay, Jessica Kay, Sarah, Matt, and Ben Williams. He was preceded in death by: his parents; 1 brother, Mitchell Shahaden; 3 sisters, Madeline Baker, Frieda Shahaden, and Minnie McGowan. A private family service has been scheduled at the Lane Funeral Home-Niles Chapel 415 Robbins Ave. Niles. Family and Friends may call from 3 to 5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions can be made to Forum Health Hospice.
