Edward "Diddie" F. Sundman, 78, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born on May 3, 1935 to the late, John and Pearl Hyson Sundman in Hughes, West Virginia. Diddie moved to Warren, Ohio in his late 20's bringing his first wife and children's mother, Betty Lee (Martin) Sundman, along from West Virginia. Diddie married Betty Lee on July 25, 1959 and they had two children during their 43 years of marriage, before her passing on February 26, 2003. Diddie married his second wife, Betty Olive (Coursen) Sundman on June 3, 2006 bringing four step daughters into his family. Diddie was a member of the Hubbard Church of the Nazarene. He loved fishing and hunting and was a Mr. Fix it, always tinkering with things. He worked for the Trumbull Cement Product Company for forty years working in machine maintenance and as a laborer until 1987. Diddie was also very crafty as his mother had taught him to crochet, knit and cook; important skills he passed onto his own daughters. Diddie loved spending time with his friends and family and he will be missed dearly. He is survived by his wife, Betty O. (Coursen) Sundman; daughters, Connie (Daniel) Oliver and Debra Rodriguez; step daughters, Donna (Robert) Bailey, Nancy Bartel, Betsy Ellis and Bonnie (Kenneth) Wagner; grandchildren, Timothy Rodriguez, Bethany Oliver Fogleman, Amanda Oliver, Kayla Oliver and Zachary Oliver; great grandsons, Corey Waggoner and Christopher Oliver; sister, Jean (Leeroy) Wellman; brother, Leeroy Sundman; and loving dog, Sparkie. Diddie was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Lee (Martin) Sundman; parents; grandson, Daniel Scott Oliver; brothers, Elmer Sundman, John Sundman, and Richard Sundman; sister, Martha Bowen; and son in law, Eloy Rodriguez. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00pm at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr NE. Funeral Services will follow calling hours at the funeral home beginning at 2:00pm with Pastor Michael Byus officiating. Burial will follow in Howland Township Cemetery.
