Services will be 1:30 PM Monday at Zion Lutheran Church for Edward M. Ripple, 76, of Austintown who passed away Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Ed was born March 7, 1931 in West Austintown , the son of Myron L. and Helen J. (Humensky) Ripple. He attended Fitch High School where he played football. He was a service manager at G & W Distributing Inc. until 1981 then at Belmont Distributing Inc. until his retirement in 1996. Ed was a member of the church, he was an avid bowler and member of the Tuesday Senior League and the Sportsman League, and he was also a golfer with the “Y” League for a number of years. Ed also enjoyed gardening. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War from 1950 until 1954 and achieved the rank of Staff Sgt. Ed leaves his wife, the former Lois Glenn, whom he married May 12, 1956, two children Pam Ripple and Jon Ripple both of Austintown, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ed is preceded in death by a brother Wilford. Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and again from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Monday at the Church.
