Edward P. Krebs

Edward P. Krebs Sr., age 93, of Cortland, Ohio, died Thursday, October 2, 2008, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. He was born on December 12, 1914 in New York City, New York, the son of the late George and Adelaide Mae (Pavarini) Krebs. Mr. Krebs was a 1937 graduate of Purdue University and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as a Captain during both WWII and the Korean war. Ed was employed by Republic Steel and Van Huffel Tube Corp where he had worked as a Mechanical Engineer for a total of 43 years. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Evelyn (Hoffman) Krebs, whom he married on September 30, 1939; two sons, Ed P. Krebs Jr. of Cantonment, FL. and Charles G. Krebs of Fern Park, FL.; two daughters, Carole A. Huffman of Champion Twp. and Kim A. Williamson of West Bend, WI. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A private family memorial service will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH. at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel.
