A Memorial Mass will be held at 11am Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mineral Ridge for Edward R. Yakell, 76, who died early Wednesday morning at North Side Medical Center in Youngstown. He was born January 20, 1933 in Farrell, PA, a son of Anthony and Theresa (Crago) Yakell. He was a 1951 graduate of Farrell High School. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He worked for the Westinghouse Corporation in Sharon where he made electrical transformers for 30 years before retiring in 1984. He enjoyed playing cards and watching football. He was a kind and loving man and will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, the former Carmela A. Albanese, whom he married December 19, 1983; four children; Ginger (David) Gagen and Toni (Terry) Candella, both of Roselle, IL; Edward Yakell, and Matthew Yakell at home; five grandchildren; Mike, Jenna, Alex, and Scott Gagen; and T'Lyn Candella; a brother, Robert (Glenda) Yakell of Sharon; and two sisters; Janice Kent of Masury and Marli Yakell of Niles. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Darlene Yakell. There are no calling hours.
