Edward W. Cantor, Jr.

CANFIELD-A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday May 15, 2009 at 10am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown with the Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio officiating, preceded by closing prayers to be said at 9am in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Edward “Eddie” W. Cantor Jr, 38, who passed away unexpectedly Saturday May 9, 2009 in his home. Eddie was born July 1, 1970 in Youngstown the son of Edward W. Cantor, Sr. and Rosemary (Fascia) Cantor and was a 1988 graduate of Hubbard High School. Eddie received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the Youngstown State University and was currently working for the State of Ohio Adult Parole Authority as a Parole Officer. Eddie also volunteered with the U.S. Marshall Violent Fugitive Task Force and the BYRNE Unit. Eddie was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown and the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He enjoyed golfing, was an avid Ohio State, Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. Eddie had a wonderful sense of humor and was giving, loving and sensitive person to all who knew him. Eddie is deeply loved by all of his family, colleagues and friends and will be sadly missed by his mother Rosemary F. Jones of Youngstown, his fiancée Adrianne Longo of Canfield; a sister Karen (Ronald) Butka of Austintown; a nephew Vincent Butka; a niece Zoey Butka; uncle and aunt Dave and Karen Fascia; cousins Lisa (Joe) Pompeo, Stella Shea Pompeo; and Nick Fascia, and by a host of friends. Eddie was preceded in death by his father Edward W. Cantor Sr. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 4 until 8 PM in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
