Elaine Margaret Fleming Shaffer

Prayer services will begin 10:15 am Wednesday at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Christine's Catholic Church for Elaine Margaret Fleming Shaffer who went home to be with the Lord on Friday afternoon at Omni Manor Care Center. Elaine was born August 14, 1946 in Youngstown a daughter of the late Edwin and Dorothy (Hoffman) Fleming. A 1964 graduate of Chaney, Elaine was a receptionist at Guardian Health Care Center for over 20 years retiring in 2010. Elaine was a good hearted, caring person who loved going to church and spending time with her family. She will be greeted at the gates of heaven by all of her loved ones who went before her and will be sadly and deeply missed by all of her family, friends and neighbors whom she left behind. She leaves behind a daughter Lori Shaffer of Austintown; a step son Robert Shaffer; a sister Marney Fleming of Fairborn; two sisters in law: Cindy (John) Mentzer of Boardman and Shirley Tul of Youngstown; one granddaughter of Melinda Shaffer; one great grandson; her God daughter Michele (Mike) Sutton of Beaver Creek; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Lee Shaffer, whom she married November 18, 1972 and passed on February 20, 2009; a step son Michael J. Shaffer and a brother in law Joe Tul. The family would like to thank everyone at Omni for their love, care, prayers, and support.
