Eleanor F Shaw

Eleanor F. Shaw, age 89, of Warren, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, November 16, 2013 in Warren, Ohio. Eleanor was born on October 23, 1924 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania to the late, John Law and Daisy (Miller) Law. Eleanor married her husband, William W. Shaw on August 31, 1942. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she volunteered in the office and sang in the choir. She was co-owner, with her husband, of Shaw's Landscaping from 1965 to 1994. Eleanor was well known for her handmade lawn ornaments, and enjoyed crocheting and sewing clothes for both her family and daughters barbies. Eleanor had a true love of parrots, having owned an African Grey named Bogey and most recently, the parrot that was her whole life, a Yellow-Headed Amazon, Polly. For anyone that had ever visited her while she lived independently for the past 3 years at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland, knew that Polly was her best friend and companion and he will miss her dearly. Eleanor is survived by her son, Wendal (Jane) Shaw; daughter, Beverly (Rick) Wehmer; grandchildren, Keith and Ashley Shaw and Sean and Samantha Wehmer; sister, Marian Law and extended family. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William W. Shaw; parents and her siblings, Ethel Lawrence, Jim Law and Dave Law. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts Clark Chapel (180 Garfield Dr NE, Warren, Ohio 44483) from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church (2860 E. Market St., Warren, Ohio 44483) at 11:00am with Rev. Ann Marie Winters officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in memory of Eleanor to St. Paul Lutheran Church (2860 E. Market St., Warren, Ohio 44483)
