ELEANOR HAWN After ninety six joyful years, Eleanor Louisa Schulz Hawn peacefully passed away on December 12, 2013, at Youngstown Park Vista. Eleanor was born on May 30, 1917, in Sharon, PA, to Walter and Jeanette Rappel Schulz. She was raised in Youngstown, OH, graduated from Boardman High School in 1936, and attended Denison University and Cleveland School of Art. Eleanor spent most of her adult life in Ambridge, PA. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-five years, Benjamin Franklin Hawn and her sister, Grace Hawn Gougler. She is survived by her children Barbara (Trenton Wann) Hawn of Mountain Park, NM, Wendy (Tom) Vencuss of Bellmore, NY, Randy (Marisa DePaulis) Hawn of Wilmington, DE, and Phyllis (David) Hulton of Boardman. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Eleanor was a woman of faith -- living a life of gratitude, loving unconditionally, and sharing her positive spirit with everyone she met. She had a deep love for her family and continually supported and encouraged her children. She was also a dedicated and creative homemaker who loved to paint, garden, preserve vegetables, bake, and sew. Eleanor and her family enjoyed sailing at Pymatuning Yacht Club for more than sixty years. Eleanor's enthusiasm led her to participate in many volunteer activities and she was an inspiration to many. She was involved in numerous church and civic activities throughout her life and particularly enjoyed singing. While at Park Vista, she loved her exercise class and continued to be an energetic volunteer. In her local community, Eleanor was a local school board member, political activist, medical escort, and fund raiser. She also worked at the Beaver County Courthouse, PA, as a Recorder of Deeds and as an Insurance Analyst for Tosh and Brown Insurance. On December 16, a private Service of Remembrance and Celebration was held at Park Vista of Youngstown. Another celebration of Eleanor's life will be held in the summer of 2014 at Pymatuning Yacht Club.
