Eleanor Marie Balsley

AUSTINTOWN-Eleanor M. Balsley, 72 of S. Raccoon Rd in Austintown, went home to be with the Lord at 6:39 PM Monday, November 13, 2006 in Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Eleanor was born June 3, 1934 in Youngstown and was the daughter of the late Leroy M. and Mary (Knox) Hough. Eleanor was a graduate of Canfield High School and most recently worked as the Snack Bar Manager in the Mahoning Avenue WalMart in Austintown. Eleanor was a member of Upper Room Ministries in Austintown. Eleanor is survived by her husband of 48 1/2 years Terrence “Terry” G. Balsley, whom she married on May 16, 1958; nine children, Ricky (Jeanette) Bates of Sebring, Randy (Donna) Bates of Sebring, Kim Davis of Leetonia, Chriss (Art) Huffman of Las Vegas, Ramona (Bob) Malafarina of Drums, PA, and Roy Balsley of Austintown; ten sisters and two brothers; June Hart of Baltimore, MD, Doris (John) Moore of Canfield, Marian Spellman of North Jackson, Helena (Ray) Moore of Canfield, Betty (Ed) Baird of Salem, Jeanette (Hoppy) Hoprich of Leetonia, Amelia (Jim) Cox of Columbiana, Eileen (Gary) Bates of Salem, Arthur (Charlotte) Hough of Greenford, Barbara (Charles) Shelley of Leetonia, Shirley (Jim) Secrest of Lisbon, and Earl (Cosette) Hough of Canfield; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by a sister Annabelle Early and two brothers Leroy and Homer Hough. In honor of Eleanor’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 5PM in Idaho Road Alliance Church, 250 Idaho Road, Austintown, Ohio 44515. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Eleanor’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Caring and Compassionate arrangements were entrusted to the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
