Elizabeth "Betty" Whitney

Niles: Elizabeth "Betty" Whitney, 94, of Niles passed away on February 25, 2017 at St. Joseph Health Care in Warren. Betty was born on October 29, 1922 in Moundsville, WV to Herbert & Lillian (Hartley) O'Neil. Betty was united in marriage to Robert Whitney on July 30, 1959. Robert preceded Betty in death on March 3, 2008. She was a licensed funeral director in West Virginia and was employed by Grisell Funeral Home. She retired as the supervisor of the Sales Department from Packard Electrical in 1980. She was a member of the Quest Club of Niles, the Niles Historical Society and a volunteer with the Red Cross. Besides her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her brother Rexford O'Neil. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday February 27th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Lane Funeral Homes, Niles Chapel; 415 Robbins Road where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m.
