A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM Friday in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Elizabeth Schandlinger, 91, of Youngstown formerly of Austintown, who passed away Tuesday in Meridian Arms Care Center. Betty was born November 19, 1916 in Youngstown, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Annasenz) Bahmer both of Germany. She was a lifelong area resident. Betty worked for Isaly's Dairy and for Grants Department Store, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the church and enjoyed crafts, sewing and babysitting her grandchild. Her husband Steve Schandlinger, whom she married October 2, 1946, passed away August 20, 1986. Betty leaves a daughter; Marilyn (Anthony) Farinelli of Berlin Center, one granddaughter; Wendy Ann Jones, and one great granddaughter; Angela Maria Jones. Besides her husband and parents, Betty is preceded in death by two brothers; Paul and Joseph Bahmer and one sister; Ann P. Christmas. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 PM today at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, where closing prayers will be at 9:30 AM on Friday.
