Ellen E. Roth

YOUNGSTOWN Ellen E. (Dunn) Roth, age 92, formerly of Austintown passed away Thursday morning, April 12, 2012 at Beeghly Oaks. Born April 19, 1919, in Youngstown, she was the daughter of Thomas and Anna (Kennedy) Dunn. Ellen attended the Sacred Heart School and East High School. She was employed with Lustig's Shoe Store in downtown Youngstown and McKenzie Muffler (Marshall St.) She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church; she was an avid reader, enjoyed word puzzles, and playing cards. A wonderful homemaker and great cook, she will be sadly missed. She married Paul J. Roth on July 22, 1948 and together they shared 46 years of marriage until his death on April 18, 1994. Survivors include: son Paul C. (Barbara) Roth of Youngstown, daughters Patricia Roth Marshall of Athens, GA., and Mary Kay (Peter) Karsti III of Youngstown, with whom she made her home for several years; step-daughters Joan (Robert) Glodde of Traveras, Fl., and Diane (Arthur) White of Howland; brother John Dunn of Youngstown; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Marie Croop and Kathleen Mattson, and son in law George F. Marshall. Friends will be received on Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00PM at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:00AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Kevin Peters officiating. Burial will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St. Youngstown, Ohio 44512. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Beeghly Oaks and the Hospice of the Valley for all the love, care, and support given to Ellen and her family during her stay there.
