Elmer Wayne Zack, age 82 of Warren, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday morning, April 27, 2014, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born August 24, 1931 in Homer City, Pennsylvania the son of the late Basil and Hazel Rhine Zack. Elmer worked for over 38 years as a grinder at Copperweld Steel Corporation, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed gardening, stamp and coin collecting and spending time with his toy poodle, Peaches. Elmer was an active and dedicated church member over the years in both the Warren and Niles Wesleyan Methodist Churches, where he had served in various church offices. His wife of 56 years, Wilma Joy Bennett Zack, whom he married May 15, 1954, preceded him in death on January 27, 2011. One granddaughter, Kelli Beth Zack; one sister, Dora Jones and one brother, Kenneth Zack have all preceded him in death. Elmer is survived by one daughter, Denise (Ron) Tucker of Warren; two sons, Myron (Mary) Zack of Warren and Paul (Sarah) Zack of Niles. He was proud of his ten grandchildren, Linda, Daniel and Michael Zack, Pamela (Samuel) Pekoc, Lauren (Matthew) Straniak and Stacy Tucker and Elyssa, Cheyenne, Tristyn and Kaidyn Zack; seven great grandchildren, Justin Tucker, twins Aubrey and Jackson Straniak, Jeannine, Kellie and Ashley Zack and Brandon Ford; three sisters, Betty (Ray) McKendrick of Penn Run, Pa., Janet (Chuck) Henderson of Aultman, Pa. and Eleanor (Ted) Bowser of Blairsville, Pa. and three brothers, Sam (Nettie) Zack of San Angelo, Texas, Tom (Georgia) Zack of Lucerne Mines, Pa. and John (Laurie) Zack of Blairsville. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten by his family, friends and neighbors. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, where the service will be held at noon Friday. Pastor Michael Marshall will officiate. Burial will be at Pineview Memorial Park in Warren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
