Emil L. Perunko Sr., 97, of Warren, passed away, Wednesday March 21, 2012 at Windsor House of Champion. He was born January 25, 1915 in Neffs, Ohio, the son of the late Charles and Susanna Perunko. Emil was a graduate of Bellaire High School, class of 1933 and lifelong resident of Warren. He retired from Republic Steel on June 6, 1983 where he worked in the open hearth and B.O.F. department. Emil was a member of St. Pius X church, recording secretary of the local 1375 U.S.A.W., and treasurer of the Warren Western Reserve Quarterback Club. He was on the first advisory council for Pineview Memorial Park, a 5 gallon donor to the American Red Cross and coached little league, pony league and American Legion baseball. He enjoyed listening and dancing to Polkas, making latch hook rugs, gardening and yard work and Cleveland Indians baseball. He will be dearly missed by his daughter Linda Kemp, son Emil "Butch" (Amy) Perunko, grandchildren; Marci, Lisa, Allan, and Anne, and great-grandchildren; Tyler, Bentley, Ainsley, Grant, Brayden and Jaelyn. Emil was preceded in death by his wife Olga M. (Chirik) Perunko, his parents Charles and Susanna Perunko, his two sisters; Susan Senek and Mary Blasko, and his five brothers Louis, Charles, Cyril, John and Frank and his son-in-law Thomas Kemp. Funeral services will be 12 Noon Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Roberts Clark Chapel, in Warren, where friends will be received from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Pastor Ray Blasko will officiate the service. Interment will be at Pineview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to the charity or organization of the donor's choice. Funeral arrangements were handled by Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel.
