Lordstown-Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Enola Wilson of Lordstown who died Thursday morning in Trumbull Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient 11 days. Mrs. Wilson was born May 7, 1912 in Painesville OH. the daughter of Grover C. and Huldah Dunlap Ford and was a life long area resident. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Lordstown Christian Church where she had served as a deacon, church clerk and Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Wilson’s regional and community civic activities eased in the 1970’s because of blindness from glaucoma prior to this she was involved in; Lordstown Eden Grange since 1934, Lordstown Garden Club since 1952, Trumbull County Garden Forum, Trumbull County Farm Bureau Woman’s Committee while as secretary she had a local radio broadcast for 4 years, she participated in the Ohio Farm Bureau Foreign Exchange Program having sponsored 8 students, member of Ohio State rural health board, Board member Trumbull County Kent State Board for 9 years, Past president Lordstown Community Council which was responsible for the first Zoning in Lordstown Township. She was chairman of the Lordstown Incorporation Committee, Chairman of the Lordstown annexation committee, which annexed the remainder of Lordstown Township to the Village making it a five mile square village. As a Farm Bureau member, Enola appeared before the Ohio State Senate Tax Committee. She researched and presented thorough documentation to remove personal property tax for Ohio farmers. She was an active member of 2 Farm Bureau Councils since the 1940’s. She was also Republic Precinct Committee Woman for 20 years and was on the Republican Executive Committee. Enola participated in the Blind Reading Service at the Cleveland Public Library. In 25 years she had read more than 9100 books, as well as 7 monthly magazines. All of her life she has grown flowers, displayed in all kinds of flower shows and won all kinds of ribbons—a truly enjoyable hobby. With her husband James they operated the Wilson Fruit and Dairy Farm from their residence for many years. In the same sense she has spent a life of service to God, Country and Family. She is survived by her daughter; Joan L. Vernon of Lordstown, son; David L. (Kay) Wilson of Canfield, sisters; Pauline McKibben of Columbia S.C., Aldyth Graham of Columbus Grove OH., Marion Lutz of Levittsburg, Virginia Lutz of Newton Falls, brothers; Lester Ford of Wayne OK., Henry Ford of Stow, Richard Ford of Lordstown, grandchildren; Leslie Hancock, Julie Burnett, Rhonda Collins, and great grandchildren; Neil Hancock, Kara Hancock, Evan Collins and Jamison Collins. Mrs. Wilson preceded in death by her husband James M. Wilson whom she married in 1932 died 1989, brother Robert Ford and sister Dorotha Airhart. Family and friends may call from 5-8 pm Monday and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
