Esther K. Marriott

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Esther K. Marriott of Canfield who passed away on Tuesday morning at Blossom Nursing Home in Salem. Esther was born October 23, 1917 in Canfield the daughter of Harvey and Blanche (Cochel) Knauf. A graduate of the Greenford School in 1936, and Kent State University, Esther became a school teacher in New Middletown, Greenford, and Boardman retiring in 1956. She was a member of the Canfield Presbyterian Church, the Cantowners Social Service Club, the Argus Lodge Widows Association and the Sleepy Hollow Garden Club. An avid golfer, Esther was a member of the Tippecanoe Country Club where she had served as golf chairwoman. Esther leaves thirteen nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Marriott in 1992 as well as an infant daughter Melinda Leila Marriott and three sisters: Mary Spiker, Gertrude Schrom and Helen Powell. Three brothers also preceded her in death: Walter, Floyd, and Hubert Knauf. Friends may call from 7-9 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be sent to either the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children in Erie, PA or the Shriner’s Burn Center in Cincinnati, OH.
