Austintown- Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Ethel Kane who died Friday evening at the Sterling House. Ethel was born June 10, 1935 in Youngstown the daughter of Roy and Alice (Robinson) Tabor. Ethel was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was involved with the Grieving Hearts Club. She loved to do puzzles, travel to Mountaineer, and volunteered at Austintown Local Schools reading to Kindergarten students. Ethel graduated from Springfield Local High School in 1954. She had been employed as a secretary for Forest Lawn Cemetery, retiring in 1997. Prior to working at Forest Lawn she had worked at Tamco for many years. Ethel is survived by her son Harvey and daughter in law Melissa Crowley of Austintown and her granddaughter Emma Nicole Crowley. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Kane whom she married in 1975 and who died in 1997, and seven siblings. The family requests memorial contributions take the form of donations to Southern Care Hospice who took wonderful care of Ethel. Family and friends may call from 5-8 pm Monday evening at the funeral home
