Berlin Center- Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home-Canfield Chapel for Eugene H. Lippiatt, age 76 of Berlin Center who died Friday afternoon at Blossom Nursing home in Salem. Eugene was born April 1, 1933 in Youngstown and was the son of the late Robert and Lillian (Needham) Lippiatt. He retired in 1982 from the State Highway Patrol. He had also been an auctioneer and a realtor and had formerly owned Berlin Auto Sales. Eugene was a member of the Ellsworth United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Post #9571 in Ellsworth, Saxon Club, Argus Masonic Lodge and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Eugene was a collector of John Wayne memorabilia and had an extensive automotive background, collecting old tractors and antique cars. He leaves his loving wife, Evelyn (Diver) whom he married Oct. 25, 1953. He also leaves two daughters Darlene Vanjura of New Middletown, Annette (Jesse) James of Berlin Center, a sister Joyce Patton of Townsend, Mass., two grandchildren Brandy (Patrick) Wolf, Drew Vanjura, a great granddaughter Kahlan Wolf and a special cousin, Glenn (Joan) Dales of Cortland. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Roberta Donnalley. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 PM Monday. The Masonic Lodge will hold a service Monday evening. The family requests that material contributions be made to the Ellsworth United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 103, Ellsworth, OH 44416.
