Eugene Herbert Schrader

Lordstown- Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday at Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel for Eugene H. Schrader, age 91 of 6071 Highland Ave. who died Sunday evening at Humility House in Austintown. Eugene was born April 26, 1914 in North Jackson and was the son of the late Herman and Olive (Cole) Schrader. He retired in 1974 after 40 years from Airco Industrial Gases where he had been a distribution manger. After retiring, he had owned and operated Bridget Trucking for five years transporting beef, had also sold GMC trucks at Midway Motors till 1992 and had farmed 75 acres and raised registered Black Angus cattle. Eugene was a member of the Lordstown Christian Church and a member of the Niles McKinley Masonic Lodge #794 where he was a 32” Mason. He was a graduate of Lordstown High School, had a Go-Cart Track, loved snowmobiling, Nascar Racing and local stock car racing. He enjoyed traveling to Deer Bay in Peterboro, Ontario, Canada and especially enjoyed dining out with his special nieces, Donna Squires and Diane Natoli. Eugene’s wife, the former Eleanor Bowker whom he married May 8, 1936 died Aug. 22, 2005. He is survived by a son Robert and his wife Donna Schrader of Lordstown, three nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Josephine Roose. Friends may call at the funeral home from one hour prior to services on Wednesday. The Masonic Lodge will hold a service 12 Noon Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests that material contributions be made to the Lordstown Christian Church.
