Evelyn Lucille Thomas

Evelyn L. Thomas, 81 Mansfield, Evelyn L. Thomas age 81of Mansfield, formally of Austintown, passed away Thursday, July 4th, 2013 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home, Mansfield, with her daughter by her side after a long battle with Dementia. Born March 28, 1932 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Lawrence H. and Flora R. (Wheaton) Waites. Evelyn worked at the Dollar Bank after graduation from South High School until her marriage to George L. Thomas on August 23, 1952. She was a homemaker who loved going to antique shops, working in her flower gardens and spending time with her family and friends. Evelyn was a member of Western Reserve United Methodist Church (Canfield) where she supported the youth and youth programs. Evelyn will be remembered as a loving Mother, and a true friend. She had a real sense of humor. She always had a smile and put others needs ahead of her own. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, George L. Thomas, and a brother Lawrence M. Waites. She is survived by her three children Jeffrey L. (Mary) Thomas Youngstown, Cathy L. McGlone Mansfield, Michael L. (Joanie) Thomas of North Jackson. Grandchildren: William III, Matthew, Jonathan McGlone and Taylor Thomas. Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at the chapel at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield, Ohio from 12:30pm - 1:00pm. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel.
