Evelyn M. Detelich of Masury, Ohio, died on Thursday (10-4-2007) in the Shenango Inn, Sharon, Pennsylvania following a brief illness. She was 84. Mrs. Detelich was born in Conifer, Pennsylvania on October 21, 1922, a daughter of Frank A. and Irene (Sebastian) Ghizzoni. Following graduation in 1940 from Brookfield High School, as a young woman, Evelyn worked at Wilson’s Furniture Store, Sharon. She went on to serve her family as a full time homemaker. She was a lifelong member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Masury, Ohio; and the Masury Card Club. She was a helping hand to many of her friends and neighbors, especially as they became elderly and needed more assistance in their lives. In her spare time, she enjoyed taking bus trips to the Carousel Diner Theater, Akron, Ohio. Survivors include: her sons, Larry Detelich, Masury, OH, and Robert Detelich & his wife Linda, Hubbard, OH; her grandchildren, Scott & Lisa Detelich; her sister-in-law, Mary Ghizzoni, Houston, TX; her many nieces & nephews; and her best friend, Norina Farkas. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Joseph P. Detelich, whom she married September 6, 1947, he died May 2, 1995; and by her brother, Edward Ghizzoni. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, with Rev. Frank Zanni, Pastor. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 PM at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield. Burial will be in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
