Mrs. Evelyn Main Bosley, 90, died peacefully Wednesday morning, December 10, 2014 at Park Vista of Youngstown. She was born on April 15, 1924 in Youngstown to the late Paul and Hazel Pitts Main. Evelyn graduated from Chaney High School in 1941 as Vice President of her class. She was a registered nurse, graduating from Youngstown Hospital Association in 1945. During her training, she was a Cadet Nurse and worked at the Veterans Hospital in Chicago. After graduation, she joined Visiting Nurse Association working in the baby clinic. In 1954 she started working at Southside Hospital and retired in 1983. In her retirement years, Evelyn enjoyed time with her family, especially her grandchildren and traveling to many parts of the world with her sister and brother-in-law, LaVerne and Charles Frost. She will always be remembered for taking care of others. A lifetime member of Mahoning United Methodist Church, she participated in many activities including Wesmeth Class, Methodist Women, Chancel Choir, and Vacation Bible School. She was a member of Miriam Chapter #278 Order of the Eastern Star, Clotilda Club, PEO, Argus Lodge Widows, and the Retired Nurses Association. Evelyn's husband, Edwin V. Bosley, whom she married on September 4, 1947 died on March 31, 1991. She is survived by her sister LaVerne (Charles) Frost of Melbourne, FL; her children, Paul (Jeanne) of Grayson, Georgia, David (Janne) of Powell, Ohio, Janice (Jim) of Peachtree City, Georgia, and Brian (Vicki) of Greenwood, Indiana; grandchildren Christina (Derek), Candace (Nate), Matthew, Jonathan, Megan, Lauren, Mark and Luke; great-grandchildren Jackson, Daphne, Benjamin, Ian Paul and Reid; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her brothers Eugene and Donald Main. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave, Austintown, OH 44515. Family and friends may call from 11:00 1:00 preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Mahoning United Methodist Church, P O Box 90136, Youngstown, OH 44509. The family would like to thank Dr. James Shina, his staff and the caregivers at Park Vista and Senior Independence for their care and dedication.
