Funeral Services will be held at 10AM Saturday, December 31, 2005 with the Rev. John R. Selders officiating in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Forrest B. Phillips, of Cumberland Circle in Austintown, who passed away suddenly Wednesday afternoon in the emergency room of Forum Health Northside Medical Center after being stricken at home. Forrest was 76. Forrest was born on December 13, 1929 in Montrose, West Virginia and was the son of Chester F. and Addie (Sturm) Phillips. Forrest was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. Forrest was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed hunting and bowling. Most of all, Forrest enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Forrest will be deeply missed by his wife of 50 years the former Joan R. Miller, whom he married on December 10, 1955 in Oakland, MD; three children Carolyn (Frank) Tarasuck of Austintown; Allen (Linda) Phillips of Austintown; David (Laurel) Phillips of Austintown; three grandchildren Michael P. Tarasuck, Justine N. Phillips, and Chad J. Phillips; a sister Velma Proulx of Baltimore, MD; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Charles and Erika Miller of Austintown. Besides his parents, Forrest was preceded in death by his brother Doyle Phillips and an infant sister. Family will receive friends from 5 until 8 PM Friday, December 30, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Green Haven Memorial Gardens. Family entrusted arrangements to the Lane Funeral Homes Austintown Chapel.
