Fern Evans

Fern Evans, 83, of Girard, died Wednesday, July 16, 2015 at 10:07 am at her residence with her loved ones by her side. She was born on October, 30 1931 in Darlington, PA the daughter of the late Orion and Alberta (McGrath) Oliver. Mrs. Evans lived in Ohio for the last 20 years; prior to that she lived in California. Fern worked as a secretary, a hair dresser and at Agates flower shop. Fern would spend countless hours in her garden tending to her beloved gardenias. She loved to cook for all of her family , crochet, and spend time with her grandchildren whom she loved so dearly. Fern enjoyed watching games shows, was member of the 700 club, and donated to cystic fibrosis and animal charity's. Survivors include her children; Ellen K Brothers, of Denver CO, David (Sherrie) Evans, of Niles, John (Kari) Evans, of Girard, whom she made her home with, Cindy (Jim) Nelson, of Denver, CO, 12 grandchildren; Anthony Wallace, Laura Neely, James and Sara Evans, Shari, Kati and John Jr. Evans, Lacy Nelson, Rachel (Jake) Kimble, Ali (Mike) Makowski, Tim, and Todd Bradley; 13 great grandchildren, her siblings; David (Peggy) Oliver, of Idaho, Carol (Rusty) Oliver-Ferries, of Dayton, John(Rose) Oliver, Kathy Gould, and Laverna "Lovy" Wichert, all of Columbiana, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Fern was preceded in death by her husband, James Evans, who died in 1962. Care was entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, Ohio.
