YOUNGSTOWN: Florence Amy Kays, age 92, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at Masternick Memorial Health Care in New Middletown. Born June 21, 1920 in Springfield Township, Ohio, she was the daughter of Homer and Mary (Wick) Dailey. Florence attended the Youngstown Business School; worked for the Austintown School System from 1956 until her retirement in 1980; she was a member of the Amaranth Lodge in Youngstown, had bowled on a league at West Side Lanes, and enjoyed traveling the country with her husband. Survivors include her sons William (Shirley) Kays, Jr. of Diamond and Ralph (Gail) of Rocky Point, NC; grandchildren: Michael Kays, Raymond Kays, Steven Ruggles, Christina Ruggles Miller, Steven Kays, and Gary Kays; 9 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren; sister Jean Crum of Painesville. She was preceded in death by her husband William E. Kays, Sr whom she married on April 7, 1943; her parents, sisters Joann Herritt and Grace Dailey; brothers Edward and Darrell Dailey. Friends will be received at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 10-11AM, a graveside committal service will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
