Forest Hill Simpson

Forest "Woody" Simpson Jr. of Masury, OH, died on Thursday (04-17-2008) in the Sharon Regional Health Care System. He was 59. Mr. Simpson was born in Youngstown, OH on July 26, 1948, a son of Forrest and Mildred (Shood) Simpson Sr.. A graduate from Chaney High School, "Woody" furthered his education by attending classes at Youngstown College before being drafted by the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid reader. He was also proud to be a fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians, Cavaliers, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Mr. Simpson was currently self-employed in the construction trade. He is survived by his son Jeremy (Sabrina) Simpson of Hubbard, OH; two daughters Melissa Miller (Greg) of Youngstown, OH, and Jamie Simpson of Boardman, OH; three sisters Debbie (Steve) Slipski of Austintown, OH, Jill (Sal) Calderone of Poland, OH, Sharrie Simpson of Youngstown, OH; three grandchildren Gabriella, Logan Matthew, Emily Nicole; and two nephews. Also surviving is his companion of thirteen-years Anne-Marie Balog; a step-son Rick Balog; and step-daughter Suzanne Hoffman and her separated husband Chris all of Masury; five grandchildren Amy, Brittney, Diandra, Xavier, and Christian. He also leaves his two dogs Levi and Shiloh, and his cat Scarlet O'Hara. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 24th, 2008 at 7PM at the Madasz Funeral Chapel in Brookfield, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that contributions be made to the family.
