Mrs. Frances I. Swogger (88), of Brookfield, Ohio, passed away on Saturday March 13, 2010 at 3:25 PM at Clepper Manor in Sharon, PA. Mrs. Swogger was born on December 20, 1921 in Sharon, PA to the late Burt O. and Hazel (Duffy) Weston. She married Howard R. Swogger on October 30, 1941, and enjoyed more than forty-two years of marriage and with him go on to raise four daughters. Frances served as an excellent hostess for the former Schuster's Restaurant in Masury, OH for over ten years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and had enjoyed taking camping trips with her family. An imaginative person, Frances was known for her crocheting talents especially her many tissue boxes. She enjoyed going to bingo, and card playing with her friends and family especially Phase Ten, Skippo, and Euchre. She was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hubbard, OH and the Farrell Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #55. She is survived by her daughters Beverly Stafford and her husband Robert of Farrell, PA & Janice Leipheimer and her husband Harold "Rick" of Brookfield, OH; her five sisters Ida Newton and Rosetta Boles both of Hermitage, PA, Doris Work of Sharon, PA, Hazel Stafford of Texas, and Phyllis Sherman of Greenville, PA; twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard who passed away on December 11, 1983, her parents, two daughters Marsha Miller and Gwendolyn D. Ghrist, her sisters Lucille Lutton, and Betty Weston, and two grandchildren, and her dear friend Merle Parton. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home, Madasz Chapel in Brookfield, OH on Tuesday evening from 4-7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday March 17, 2010 at the funeral home, with Rev. Jim Zingale of Grace Lutheran Church as Pastor. Burial will be next to her husband at Brookfield Township Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy the family asks that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
